Donald Trump mocks Taylor Swift in White House speech to huge laughter (2025)

Donald Trump hasn't been able to shake it off when it comes to his beef with Taylor Swift and couldn't help but take aim at the singer in his speech to Super Bowl winners, Philadelphia Eagles

Donald Trump has seized his opportunity to mock Taylor Swift after the singer openly endorsed his rival in the 2024 election. The 47th US president, 78, couldn't help but take aim at the 35-year-old icon in his latest White House speech after welcoming the Super Bowl winners, Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles defeated Kansas City Chiefs in the huge NFL fixture on February 9, with Swift in attendance cheering on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. However, her appearance on the jumbo screen at the time was met with a mixture of boos - and Trump couldn't wait to mock her once again.

Speaking to the team in his speech, Trump said: "I was there along with Taylor Swift."

He then rhetorically asked the crowd: "How did that work out?" His jibe was met with laughter, so he repeated: "How did that one work out?"

It's not the first time Trump has took aim at the Shake It Off star. Taking to Truth Social following the Eagles' victory in February, Trump ruthlessly blasted her by sharing contrasting clips of his applause versus boos which emanated from the crowd when she was projected on stadium screens at New Orleans' Caesar's Superdome.

He also shared another user's post with the caption: "Trump gets massive cheers at the Super Bowl while Taylor Swift gets booed," while writing in a separate post: "The only one that had [sic] a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!"

Despite his claims, Swift was not forced to leave the stadium on account of the jeers.

It was just the latest public display between the pair who haven't hid their discontent about each other. Trump previously declared: "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT" on his Truth Social platform.

His outburst came in September last year after Swift publicly endorsed his rival Kamala Harris in the build-up to the last US election.

Trump's shocking comment came after he had praised her for being "beautiful", but openly quizzed her political allegiances. He said in June 2024: "I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful! I find her very beautiful.

"I think she’s liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump. I hear she’s very talented. I think she’s very beautiful, actually — unusually beautiful!"

However, Trump continued to ask Variety's co-editor-in-chief, Ramin Setoodah: "But she is liberal, or is that just an act? She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal."

As well as backing against Trump in 2024, the singer also endorsed Democrat Phil Bredesen in the Tennessee mid-terms in 2018, as well as previously backing Joe Biden and Harris in 2020.

Swift also publicly criticising the then-incumbent President's posts about Black Lives Matter protesters, accusing him of "stoking the fires of white supremacy your entire presidency".
